Summertime Events

Can you believe it's Summer already? Den meetings may be over, but there are plenty of fun Scouting activities planned.
If a scout attends one event each month, he will receive the summer activity award (a cool pin that can be worn on the uniform). As with all summertime events, there will be a representative from the Pack (any volunteers?) at all events with a sign-in list. Scouts should sign-in to get their credit for the Summertime Activity pin. If you can't find the Pack representative (usually readily identifiable in a bright red Pack 13 t-shirt) to sign-in., please send an e-mail to Jim Gillogly at [email protected] or [email protected]. Note: The June Pack meeting and rocket launch each count as June events. Scouts also get credit for attending Summer camp. Please take a look at the activities listed below. Mansfield Family Fun Night - Raingutter Regatta
July 12 (Tuesday): 6:00pm Main Street. (rain date July 13)
Join Pack 13 on July 12th (rain date July 13th) from 6-9pm for the Annual Family Fun Night. We will be hosting a Rain Gutter Regatta and will be located next to the Congregational Church’s strawberry shortcake booth, midway down Main St. We are looking for several adults to help man the registration table and several scouts to help run the races. If you can help out, please come down at 5:30 pm to setup (Scouts should wear their class B’s).
The street will be closed to traffic so everyone may enjoy the many offerings of local businesses and non-profit organizations including face painting, moon bounces, dunk tanks, karate demonstrations, kid's crafts, food, entertainment and give-aways. Hundreds of families enjoy this fantastic annual event.

PawSox Sleepover (Sign-up is closed)
July 16 (Saturday): 2:00pm McCoy Stadium, Pawtucket, RI
Join the Pack in watching the Pawtucket Red Sox take on the Durham Bulls. The day includes an on-field clinic with PawSox Players & Coaches, the game, and a food voucher. The best part is that you get to set up your tent in the outfield, then take in a movie on the Jumbotron. Be sure to wake up before the sprinklers come on. J

Pack Ice Cream Social
August 16 (Tuesday): 7:00 pm Flint Farm
A Pack 13 tradition! Come and join us for an ice cream, socialize with old friends and share your summer stories. This is a buy your own ice cream event for the whole family. Note: no Ice Cream belt loops for the Cubs on this event, but adults may need to increase the notches on their belts. ;-)

Parent/Committee Yearly Planning Meeting
August 22 (Tuesday): 7:00 pm Scout Room
Technically, not a summertime activity (sorry, no pin credit), but critically important to the year's program, we will be discussing the plans for the coming year's events. If you would like some input into the planning of your Scout's year, please attend. We will go over each den meeting times, month's activities, including sleepovers, Council events, pack meetings and summer camp.
As with all Parent/Committee meetings, all parents and leaders are welcome to come and share their ideas. Light refreshments will be served.
