Please note that the time for the Pinewood Derby on Saturday March 17 has been shifted one hour later to try and accommodate those people planning to attend the character breakfast at Jordan/Jackson. Please note that date of the Council Arrow of Light Ceremony at Bishop Feehan has been changed to April 12 (Thursday).
Check-in is at 7:00pm. The ceremony begins at 7:30pm. Get there early to get the best seats! Note: this ceremony is for all Webelos II's crossing over to a Boy Scout Troop. More details will be following, as we get closer to the event. When: Overnight April 28 (Sat) to April 29 (Sun) Deadline: Feb 28 Where: the former Fore River Shipyard in Quincy, Massachusetts Cost: $45 per person Join the Pack in an exciting night aboard the world's only preserved Heavy Cruiser, the USS Salem CA-139. The USS Salem Overnight Sleepover includes: • Personalized Group Orientation • Admission to all on-board museums • Special Overnight Adventurers Ships tour • Participation in USS Salem Activities & Training • Berthing in crew’s quarters • Full dinner, breakfast and snacks • Movies • Boston Harbor Cruise on Sunday morning The Overnight Adventure offers participants activities that include simulated combat situations such as radar tracking, damage control and simulated fire fighting. Other activities include scavenger hunts, cold water survival and hoisting as well as first aid. Even though the USS Salem is a museum it's the hands-on aspect of the program that makes itunique. Adventurers get access to areas of the ship off-limits to regular guests. They even sleep in the same bunks used by naval personnel and eat in the same mess decks! Come see the thrilling action of Monster trucks at the Dunkin' Donut center. You'll see trucks with names, like "Grave Digger", "Maximum Destruction" and "Superman" do their stuff. The Harlem Globetrotters bring their 2012 World Tour to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center Providence this Spring 2012. We are looking into two exciting events for March & April: Monster Jam and the Harlem Globetrotters! Both events will be at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI.
Monster Jam is an exciting monster truck show. Come see these big trucks roar around the arena, doing amazing stunts and crushing just about anything! The Harlem Globetrotters will be bringing their antics to the Dunk. Get close & personal with the team & see a fun and exciting game. Both events will be open to the entire family. The Race is on Saturday, March 17 in the Robinson School. All racers must register their car at weigh-in night (Wednesday, March 14). We need alot of help to run the event. Parents, please look over the teams on the website, and help out where you can Arrival time: 6:15 PM Saturday January 7 - 6:30 at the latest.
**The Ecotarium gates close at 7 PM - please arrive on time!** Departure time: 8:30 AM Sunday January 8. **All participants must eat dinner prior to arrival** There are vending machines on premises, and the Ecotaium will provide a healthy snack (Nutri-Grain bars, animal crackers, fruit, water) at 9 PM and a continental breakfast (cereal, oatmeal, fruit, muffins, bagels, coffee and juice) at 6:30 AM. What to bring: sleeping bags, pillow, air mattress, sleepwear, flashlight, toothbrush / paste, light blocking sleep mask (for safety, some lights will remain on during the night). The staff does not control the temperature, so dressing in layers is suggested. There will be a visit to an animal in an outdoor habitat, so bring the appropriate outerwear. The Gift Shop will be open from 6 - 7 PM. Bring money if you choose. Activities include: a digital planetarium show, meet and greet with a live animal, exhibit exploration, hands on activities. Bedtime is between 10:30 and 11 PM. **Please let me know if any one attending has any food allergies, or other conditions the staff at the Ecotarium should be aware of.** It would be great if all adults could have a cell phone, and all chaperones could exchange numbers the night of the event. Payments of $23 per person (i.e., any person tubing) are due by Jan 8. Checks should be made out to BSA Pack 13. Payments may be left in the Pack 13 enevelope at the church (in the glass cabinet at the top of the stairs to the Scout room), given to your den leader or to Mr. Gillogly. Spots are still available for our Pack's Ecotarium sleepover on January 7-8 (Sat-Sun). Information on the event is here.
The Cost of the event is $50 per person. Siblings are welcome (min. 6 yrs old). Please pay when you sign-up. You may sign-up with your den leader or with Jen Walsh (ferwalsh(at)comcast.net) Activities include: • A digital planetarium show • Exploration of the exhibits • hands on activities (based on chosen theme) • sleeping amongst the exhibits • meeting & learning about a live animal. The Ecotarium will provide a healthy evening snack, and a continental breakfast. Dinner is not provided. All Scouts will receive a souvenir Ecotarium Patch and a child’s ticket for a free visit to the museum. |
